About Me

The Person

I am the mother of an amazing daughter who is 15. She is my best friend and the sunlight in my life. Becoming a mother has been the single most incredible journey I have been on. It hasn’t always been easy, but I wouldn’t change any part of it for the world. It is my honor to support those on their own similar journeys.

I decided to become a Labour & Birth Doula and a Postpartum Doula after I had the privilege to attend the births of two of my nephews and the wonder and the joy have never left me. Since then, I have supported natural births, from home to the hospital. I have supported in the operating room for C-section births to accompanying baby for first checks while mom recovers. I have supported premature births from labor and delivery to the NICU. Every birth is different but the one thing that is constant is the importance of support. And that is a job I take very seriously. I believe every mother should have an army of support in all shapes and sizes. After all, it takes a village to raise a baby and a warrior woman to birth one.

In 2018, I graduated from CSNN as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. It changed the way I saw my relationship with food and fascinated me as to how much power we actually have over our own health. My aim is to create good habits and mindset around food and heal the body from within. My passion is to empower my clients to reconnect with their nutrition and change the narrative of eating what sustains you, to eating what nourishes you.

Recently, I have been drawn to the practice of Reiki and am currently in training to certify. I have found I was very drawn to this form of energy work and the ability to reconnect with the life force that is within us all, very powerful. I have decided to add it to my practice as a non-invasive form of healing that can be used in all stages of pregnancy and further.

The Job

As a Labour and Birth Doula, I support my clients and their partners through the pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. I am there as much or as little as you need me. I seek to establish a strong relationship with my clients and their partners and ensure that there are not any unanswered questions or anxiety. I hope to calm any fears from either party and establish a strong bond of trust. I aim to guide women to understand how to prepare, mentally, physically and emotionally for this journey. I empower women to listen to their bodies and trust the process.

As a Postpartum Doula, I support my clients through the new stages of parenthood. I ensure that baby and parents are settled and nursing successfully before I depart the birth. Afterwards, I am available to my clients to answer any, or all, questions that may arise in the postpartum period. I will provide services tailored to fit my clients needs, whether it be nursing support, baby minding, education and resources.

As a Nutritionist, I support my clients with a personalized nutritional plan that adapts as the pregnancy advances. This includes recipes, knowledge, resources and handouts. In the postpartum stage, the nutritional plan will be reassessed and tailored to mother’s and baby’s needs. It will take into account the success or struggles of nursing and if necessary, will focus on foods that enhance breastmilk production. The plan will be focused on helping the body heal from the birth. This will include recipes, knowledge and resources and can include some on site meal prep, advanced meal prep and personal shopping. Additionally, I provide a further nutrition plan for when baby begins to eat solid foods. It includes on site prep where I show my clients how to make their own baby food without preservatives and with dietary restrictions in mind.

As a Reiki Healer, I will support my clients with a non-invasive approach to energy healing. During pregnancy, reiki can be useful in combatting morning sickness, trouble sleeping, general pain or discomfort, stress, and anxiety. It can provide a deep sense of connection between mother and baby. Postnatally, reiki can accelerate recovery and healing after birth, both physically and emotionally.

The Dream

To have a joyful pregnancy, a supportive birth experience, a healthy and happy baby to take home and an enjoyable postpartum experience.

JE, 2019

"Jacquelle was at the birth of my second son, he was four weeks early, breach and delivered by c-section. She made a scary experience into a great one. She actually had me laughing in the operating room! She was amazingly supportive through the whole experience and she was my go to person in the months that followed. I could not have asked for a better person by my side!"
